Turn every journey into an adventure.

An idea born at JLR's 2015 Hack-a-thon while developing app content for JLR's upgraded infotainment system 'In Control'. The brief was simply; Increase driving enjoyment.

While other teams focused purely on the driver's enjoyment, we thought further. We asked, why shouldn't everyone one in the car enjoy the drive? After discovering the shocking insight that parents and children only spend on average 36 minutes of quality time together a day whilst spending 3.5 hours a week in their car, we set out to turn every car journey in to quality time. Every journey into an adventure.

Collecting information from hundreds of the car's data points, we'd know where, when, how the car was driven. We'd then combine this with voice input from the passengers which in turn meant we could create user driven, journey specific, themed stories that could evolve over time. The idea of the journey as an adventure and pleasure - very much on brand for JLR. So no more dreary school runs – Every journey should be a quest for treasure, a fight for survival, or a voyage of discovery.
